This 2 hour long how-to-do-it clinic features weathering techniques for the new modeler and for the experienced model builder as well.  Standard methods used by model builders around the world are shown, plus new techniques developed by the author are included.

Step by step detailed demonstrations help you to make new materials look old and weatherbeaten.  Demonstrations include chipped and blistered paint on an old car.  Rusted out fenders.  Paint worn through to the primer.

Different methods of achieving the look of old rotten wood and peeling paint are carefully explainded and shown.

You will see how to make corregated siding and how to paint it and age it.  The technique of producing rusted old metal siding and roofing materials using acid is clearly shown.  Applying and weathering an old tar paper roof is demonstrated as well.

Two full hours of detailed, helpful instruction from an award winning model builder with over 60 years of experience in weathering models.

Satisfaction guaranteed or your money will be cheerfully refunded.

Rusty Metal

Notice the blistered paint peeling off the door of this 1/43rd scale 1936 Ford.  The old paint has been worn down to the metal primer underneath.

How to rust out a fender all the way through is also shown.

Rotten Wood and Peeling Paint

Detailed step by step instruction on how to get the unique look of old peeling paint is clearly shown.  Using different methods of achieving old rotten wood are shown as well.  Helpful ideas on obtaining that old silver gray look of wood which has spent a hundred years baking the the hot sun of the desert.

This highly magnified photo of some of the actual weathering done in the video shows the detailed look of  wood and paint abused by years of neglect.

REVIEWS FROM VIEWERS:

My DVD arrived and I and my wife spent the whole afternoon watching it.   The comments were along the lines of 'Gosh - so that's how it's done'   'Why didn't I think of that.'. I must say we learnt a great deal from the first viewing and I am sure we will pick up even more tips when we watch it again.

A big thank you to Darryl for putting it together and also thanks for a speedy delivery of the DVD.

Just want to put in a word for Darryl's DVD Easy
Weathering. It was nice to see how easy it can be to weather
things and how nice the finished products can be
(hmmm...makes one wonder how his home and car looks
like
<VBG>)
I'm a bit of a newbie on this even if I'm been in to
modeling since 1993..OK I've been doing alot of
armchair modeling (anyone for an armchair....) but
this video shows a lot of nice and easy ways to go
about things.

If you haven't seen it already or haven't got it yet,
I can recommend it. I know he has other instructive
videos as well, maybe I should look closer on them too.

Hi Darryl, I just wanted to let you know I received the DVD on weathering yesterday. I enjoyed seeing all the info you had to offer and can't wait to try some to the techniques ,especially the rusting of cars. Thanks for sending it so soon.

Darryl,

I received my copy of your weathering DVD today. I just hope that I can make stuff look half as good as yours

David .............................................................................................

Hello Darryl. DVD arrived. Great!  Congratulations. Very interesting to see how others do it. You are also a very good speaker.

Otto .................................................................................................

Just wanted to let you know that I received your DVD and it's great! I will be trying the techniques you demonstrate, and wanted to say thanks. It's one thing to read about weathering, and another to see it being done.

BTW, you have a very good voice for an instructional DVD, kinda' like the late Bob Ross from 'The Joy of Painting'.

I have recently received a copy of Darryl Huffman's DVD about weathering techniques. Whilst some of it may be old-hat to some of the specialists on the group, I have found it most instructive. I consider it one of the best that I have ever spent. This is particularly because it can be applied so readily over all scales and gauges (well maybe not Z). No links to Darryl except as a very satisfied customer.

I thoroughly enjoyed your weathering DVD. I was wondering if I can have your permission to show the DVD at the Redwood Empire Division (PCR-NMRA) meet in early February? Our contest is weathering and we think this DVD would be very welcomed by our membership.

Hi Darryl,
I just had to write and say how pleased I was with the DVD. I think it is a great way to share your knowledge with others. If you ever do any more especially in regard to adding detail to models, or the building of structures as you displayed in the DVD please let me know. Once again thank you for sharing your knowledge on the subject.

Regards

This morning, I received my copy of Darryl's latest DVD. Once again, the thing I enjoyed ,was his narration.... nice, easy
listening. Must be "Alaskan" lingo.......

Without doing a review of the DVD, can I say, I learned a few more
tips. Yep...this dog is never too old to learn new tricks....

Well done Darryl...... I know it is not a money making venture, but sharing your knowledge with others around the world.
